Jan Weith MA, LPC
Jan is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has a long history of experience in working in the public school system as a teacher as well as a crisis/wellness counselor, school counselor, and psychological examiner. Jan has experience working with children with behavioral disorders. She focuses her work as a child counselor on issues such as anger, ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, abuse, bullying, phobias, school performance and/or behavioral issues.
Jan works from a Client-Centered approach. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, choice theory, and mindfulness as her primary approaches to counseling sessions. Jan believes that the client is the primary factor in the success of their treatment and that their input is vital in successful treatment outcomes. She helps clients to identify the unhealthy thinking patterns and/or behaviors and then to make better choices, which in turn helps them to feel better.
Jan has attended training in non-violent crisis intervention as well as completion of the STEP program. (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting). Jan provides Child Counseling, Teen Counseling and Family Counseling at our Farmington, MO Office.

Jan enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves animals of all kinds, but her favorites are cats. Jan loves to read, dance, sing, watch funny movies, and enjoys nature.
