We understand that many of our clients have questions about the counseling process and payment policies. Here are several common questions that clients and their families may have.

How do I schedule an appointment for my child, adolescent, or family? Do I need a referral from a Pediatrician or Primary Care Physician?

Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center has a professional, working relationship with many local Pediatricians and Primary Care Physicians. While we appreciate and welcome referrals from these health care providers, we DO NOT require a referral to schedule an appointment. Parents or guardians may simply call our office to schedule an appointment with any of our therapists.

Does Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center accept Medicaid (MO HealthNet) and Medicare (Missouri)?

Yes, Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center does accept Medicaid (MO HealthNet). Currently all of our contracted therapists are approved providers with Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet).  We also have one therapist in our Jackson location who is an approved provider for Medicare (Missouri). 

Will my Private Insurance Company pay for therapy services?

Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center has therapists who are participating providers with the following insurance companies:

While we do bill these insurance companies, you will be responsible for all co-pays and/or deductibles at the time of service. Please notify our Office Manager of your insurance when scheduling an appointment to be sure you are scheduled with an approved provider.

What if I do not currently have Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet), Medicare (Missouri), or Private Insurance? Can I still be seen for therapy?

Yes, all therapists at Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center offer Self-Pay options to clients without Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet), Medicare (Missouri), or Private Insurance coverage. Our Office Manager will be happy to discuss Self-Pay options when you call to schedule an appointment.

What payment options does Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center accept?

Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center currently accepts cash, check, VISA, and MasterCard as forms of payment.

Where is the main Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center office located?

Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center's main office is located at:  

1353 North Mount Auburn Road, Suite C 

Cape Girardeau, MO  63701

 

We are located across the street from the Car Wash, in the same building as Cape Urgent Care.  Parking lot is in the rear of the building.   

 

Does Tender Hearts Child Therapy Center have other office locations?

 

We also have a secondary location in Jackson, Missouri.  The address is:

3191 Old Cape Road

Jackson, MO  63755 

 

If you are travelling from Cape toward Jackson on East Jackson Blvd., make a right on Old Cape Road (just before Semo Motor Company).  Our office is the 7th building on the left.  

What can I expect at my first appointment?  What do I need to bring with me?

We advise that all new clients arrive about 10 minutes prior to their first scheduled session in order to complete initial paperwork. As an alternative, clients may print and complete the intake forms located on our website prior to the session. Additionally, please bring current insurance card (Missouri Medicaid/MO HealthNet or Private Insurance) to your first session so our Office Manager can copy it for billing purposes. Private Insurance and Self-Pay clients should also bring the appropriate payment (see above) for the session. During the initial appointment, the therapist will meet with the client/family to gather background information and discuss treatment needs. Parents/guardians should plan to participate in the first session and any following sessions that the therapist deems necessary.
